Who You’ll Meet

The nature of FIFO work means that you’ll have people coming from all over the place to work in certain areas across various projects. That means that at ESS Remote Villages, you’ll meet people from across Australia and overseas, working in the area on a range of different things.

From the moment you fly to the local airport, you’ll be surrounded by other FIFO workers, each with their own stories and interests. And, with so many people in the village, you’ll be seeing them around! So, strike up a conversation with your fellow FIFO workers - who knows, you may have a host of new friends in no time!

What You’ll Serve/Eat

ESS is committed to providing residents a variety of delicious food and cuisines everyday for breakfast, lunch and dinner (including a full buffet for breakfast and dinner that is often one of the most popular in each region!) So, as an ESS chef, your job is one of the most essential parts of creating a lasting experience at each Village.  Chefs in ESS villages are given a lot of room to explore different cuisines and encouraged to host theme nights to create a fun and inclusive atmosphere in their kitchens.

Not only that, ESS village offer perks such as:

  • 24/7 access to take-away foods, including pizza and burgers

  • A licenced tavern, for that after-work hangout

  • The simple Whole + Sum portion program, to help residents make an educated choice about what they eat

As an ESS chef, you and your restaurant really are the soul of the village - a place where everyone comes to relax and connect.
